Whether it's your existing datacenter storage platform, hybrid cloud, or public cloud storage infrastructure, FAST™ transparently integrates into your environment, allowing you to centralize and consolidate unstructured data into a "Single Set of Data" that is authoritively managed, secured, and backed up in compliance with your organization's requirements. FAST™ extends your centralized data footprint out to the branch offices, caching ONLY what is required in those locations, allowing you to consolidate IT infrastructure and services and cut storage costs.

Talon FAST™ is storage agnostic, which means the software transparently integrates within your existing environment, whether utilizing traditional file servers, storage clusters, NAS devices, or any type of CIFS/SMB/iSCSI infrastructure. Your backend storage platform is where IT manages the organizations data (Volumes, ACLs, NTFS Permissions) and leverages your existing enterprise backup solutions to achieve optimal RTO/RPO.
Your Storage + Your Infrastructure + FAST™ = Scalable, Governance, & Compliance
The diagram below outlines how Talon FAST™ overlays your existing backend storage and infrastructure, transparently extending on-premise storage, i.e. NetApp AFF/FAS that hosts all of your file shares, to your distributed branch office locations.

Hybrid Cloud Storage
Many organizations have embraced a "Cloud First" strategy. This means a lot to IT, but also impacts how your end users leverage their applications and services. The easy part is consolidating SaaS/PaaS workloads into the cloud, i.e. Microsoft Office 365 or SharePoint. However, the most comprehensive workload in an environment, unstructured file data, can still be too much of a headache to "lift and shift" to the cloud. For those organizations that require a more gradual approach, hybrid cloud storage solutions may be a better fit.

The diagram below outlines how Talon FAST™ co-exists with hybrid cloud storage solutions to tier archive data to "cheaper" storage, leveraging the cloud as a storage tier. This model separates active data from archive data at your datacenter into the cloud. As you own your private keys associated with your storage, data is centralized, encrypted, and thereby secured.
Public Cloud Storage
For those organizations that want to eliminate their existing datacenter infrastructure and move all workloads into the cloud, FAST™ is the perfect fit. Many smaller businesses have simplified and consolidated all their storage and infrastructure management data into one place, protected by LRS (locally redundant storage) or GRS (geo-redundant storage) storage, and additional Microsoft Azure integrated services for the purpose of backup, high availability, and disaster recovery.

Talon and its partners have helped many organizations to define a highly available deployment strategy, including service-level clustering and datacenter-to-datacenter failover and failback scenarios in case of a real disaster. The FAST™ fabric transparently fits into this strategy, either on-premise or leveraging hybrid/public cloud. Depending on your requirements, FAST™ software deploys on Microsoft Windows Server Failover Clusters and extends for Disaster Recovery using a hot or cold stand-by instance to take over when lightning strikes.
